Preventive and Wellness Services
All Affordable Care Act Qualified Health Plans issued after January 1, 2014 must cover a list of preventive and wellness services. These services will be provided to the policy holder at no out of pocket cost. The services included are as follows:
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
- Alcohol misuse screening and counseling
- Aspirin use to prevent cardiovascular disease
- Adult blood pressure screening
- Cholesterol screening
- Colorectal cancer screening
- Adult depression screening
- Type 2 Diabetes screening
- Diet counseling
- HIV screening
- Adult immunization vaccines
Women's Preventive Services
In addition to the services listed above, women receive additional preventive care:
- Anemia screen for pregnant women
- Breast Cancer Genetic Test Counseling
- Breast Cancer Mammography screening
- Breastfeeding comprehensive support and counseling
- Cervical Cancer screening
- Chlamydia infection screening
- Contraception
- Domestic and interpersonal violence screening and counseling
- Folic Acid supplements
- Gestational diabetes screening
- Gonorrhea screening
- Hepatitis B screening
- HIV screening
- Human Papillomavirus DNA test
- Osteoporosis screening
- Rh Incompatibility screening
- Sexually Transmitted Infections counseling
- Syphilis screening
- Tobacco Use screening
- Urinary tract infection screening
