Preventive and Wellness Services

All Affordable Care Act Qualified Health Plans issued after January 1, 2014 must cover a list of preventive and wellness services. These services will be provided to the policy holder at no out of pocket cost. The services included are as follows:

  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm
  • Alcohol misuse screening and counseling
  • Aspirin use to prevent cardiovascular disease
  • Adult blood pressure screening
  • Cholesterol screening
  • Colorectal cancer screening
  • Adult depression screening
  • Type 2 Diabetes screening
  • Diet counseling
  • HIV screening
  • Adult immunization vaccines

Women's Preventive Services

In addition to the services listed above, women receive additional preventive care:

  • Anemia screen for pregnant women
  • Breast Cancer Genetic Test Counseling
  • Breast Cancer Mammography screening
  • Breastfeeding comprehensive support and counseling
  • Cervical Cancer screening
  • Chlamydia infection screening
  • Contraception
  • Domestic and interpersonal violence screening and counseling
  • Folic Acid supplements
  • Gestational diabetes screening
  • Gonorrhea screening
  • Hepatitis B screening
  • HIV screening
  • Human Papillomavirus DNA test
  • Osteoporosis screening
  • Rh Incompatibility screening
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections counseling
  • Syphilis screening
  • Tobacco Use screening
  • Urinary tract infection screening
  • Well-woman visits
